CRO SKILLS

CRO skills: reviews, research methods and tests that can be trusted

Five skills from a fast page review to a research-first programme, with two on experiment statistics because that is where most CRO goes wrong. 5 skills from 3 libraries, 5 of them running with no key, every one read in full and run once.

Together

What these skills do together

  1. Read the page: cro

Seven dimensions in impact order, a fast structured review with quick wins.

  2. Research why: cro-methodology

Objections in the customer’s words, the proof you already have, the O/CO table.

  3. Run the journey: conversion-optimization

One leaking flow through seven phases, resumable, every change a test.

  4. Design the test: experiment-design

Four-part hypothesis, MDE, duration, what not to test, no peeking.

  5. Run the programme: ab-testing

ICE, velocity, a playbook of winners.

Limits

What a skill cannot replace

None of these can see your traffic or your customers. cro-methodology says it plainly: without exit surveys, chat logs and tickets, the research rows score zero. And two of them will tell you that your traffic cannot carry the test you want; that refusal is the most useful thing on this shelf.

Questions

Questions people ask before installing

Which one for a page that is not converting?

cro for a fast read today; cro-methodology when you can bring customer words; conversion-optimization when you want the whole flow taken through a programme.

Do I need traffic to use them?

The review skills, no. The test skills will compute what your traffic can detect, and for most stores the answer is "bigger changes, fewer tests".

Are the two testing skills redundant?

ab-testing runs the programme; experiment-design is the statistics for one test whose result will decide something expensive. Their sample-size tables disagree with each other; both item pages say by how much.
